COMS brings you exciting lectures on topics both practical and theoretical, to expand your existing knowledge and introduce new skills and approaches for your clinical practice.
Warm up to COMS by attending one of our Pre-Symposium events, and learn directly from a world-class instructor in an intimate classroom setting. Our Symposium format allows you to learn and connect with our entire lineup of speakers. Each morning is comprised of hour-long presentations by each speaker, and then in the afternoon, smaller breakout sessions allow you to delve deeper into your topic of choice with individual speakers.
COMS also has the distinction of being the only TCM/Acupuncture conference with a dual track for both Human and Veterinarian practitioners. This is a rare opportunity for practitioners from both professions to interact and share information, which has resulted in exchanges that validate the cross-species effectiveness of TCM / Acupuncture modalities.
Outside of the conference room you can engage with the suppliers of the industry’s highest quality products, or shop the Eastern Currents Pop-Up Shop and discover new and exciting products to take back to your clinic!
About This Year’s Theme – FLOW: Facilitating Life, Optimizing Wellness
Our theme for 2017 was born out of a group discussion on the nature of Acu/TCM. We looked at what makes Acu/TCM practitioners different from other health practitioners. Our discussions and queries kept leading back to one of TCM’s core principles: “Where there is disharmony, there is no circulation”, “Where there is circulation, there is no disharmony”. The word FLOW popped up in our collective mind, and it had a strong resonance with all of us. TCM is rooted in nurturing flow, whether it is flow along the meridians, flow of blood and fluids, or flow between body, mind and spirit. FLOW is central to health. With a little creative thinking, we created an acronym out of the word Facilitating Life – Optimizing Wellness. These are the two major themes that differentiates us as health care practitioners.
We realized that “Flow” became the word that summarized a very powerful meme for Acu/TCM practitioners. We collectively are FLOW agents!
Life naturally wants to thrive, to expand and create. When it can’t – Acu/TCM comes to the rescue using natural principles to restore harmony! What a noble role we play to be serving Life! We all became very excited thinking about all the various ways FLOW fits as a descriptor for our role as Acu/TCM practitioners in the health care community.
We hope that our excitement is infectious and that you will join us on March 16, 17, 18, and 19, 2017!
